Two stage steel smooth bore barrel; unmarked, flat flintlock lockplate with beveled edges marked in center "Jean Seut" and engraved in tail with military motifs; cock engraved with scrolls and florals; detached pin. Finely engraved relief steel mounts including buttcap with full stirrups and engraved with fans, sideplate engraved with military motifs, and trigger guard bow engraved with flowers and scrolls. Fine silver wire scroll inlay on wrist and around buttcap. Figured burl wood stock with relief panels around lock and sideplate terminating in teardrops and fine relief scrolls around barrel tang and trigger guard, with molding around ramrod channel and along forend. Excellent condition; barrel has been cleaned and has a few scattered dark spots and light marks from use, lock also cleaned with sharp engraving. Steel mounts also bright and showing some light pitting. Some small areas of silver wire inlay on wrist have been replaced. The stock is very good with one small chip in front of lock and small area replaced at front on each side of forend; some shrinkage around buttcap.
