Octagonal smooth bore barrel signed "S. Pannabecker" on top flat in script. Flat flintlock lockplate engraved with sprigs of engraving at tail. Brass furniture. Four piece brass patchbox with familiar Berks County style finial, engraved with 'C' scrolls and borders; see page 303 No.589 of Kentucky Rifle Patchboxes & Barrel Marks by Roy F. Chandler as this rifle was photographed for the book when it was owned by Joe Kindig Jr. Full length figured maple styock of typical Berks County form; wooden ramrod. Very good original condition; barel retains a dark borwn patina with some lighter areas and some pitting around breech. Lock retains a dark mottled patina. Brass is unpolished in most areas. Stock is excellent with no repairs and retaining most of its original finish; with scattered marks from use and a small chip below lockplate. Sideplate has a few dents.
