This combination of Bolo-length barrel and large frame with hard rubber grips is rumored to have been for a special French contract. This exact pistol can be found on page 132-133 in the book System Mauser. It is stamped "Germany" on left side, as it was intended for export. Has the "New Safety" stamped hammer, all matching numbers, blued finish, Nitre blue small parts, lanyard rings, and intertwined logo black hard rubber grips. This is one of the finest condition of this rare model that we have seen, retaining 95% of the original factory blue with nearly all of the Nitre blue on small parts. Hard rubber grips are excellent with no cracks. Fine bore and action. This is one of the more desirable examples int he Broomhandle collecting field and would be hard-pressed to fine a nicer example; even the front grip strap retains nearly all its original blue. Comes with a period wooden should stock holster but number does not match (952); some one has signed the stock "Lindsay Steward"
