Manufactured 1918. Offered is an all original high condition U.S. issue World War I Colt with all original period parts to include: top of barrel stamped "HP" sans serifs (proper); lanyard loop magazine (proper); Type II checkered widespur hammer (proper), diamond checkered walnut grips (proper); left side of frame is stamped "United States Property"; Ordnance Department eagle Type I on left side (proper); long smooth trigger; checkered slide stop and safety; smooth, flat mainspring housing; slide is stamped "Model of 1911 U.S. Army" right side; Colt pony in center of patent dates on left; and Type II proper rear sight. Gun remains in excellent condition, retaining approximately 85% of the original war-time factory finish, mainspring housing and front grip strap are starting to tone. No takedown line. Perfect action. Excellent bore. Nice, original, high condition World War I Colt.
