Manufactured 1943. Left side of frame has the "F.J.A." inspector stamp (Frank Atwood, June 1942 to March 1946) with "P" below magazine release. Left side of frame is stamped "United States Property M 1911 A1 U.S. Army". Right side of frame has partially struck Ordnance wheel. Right side of slide is blank. Top has "P". Left side is stamped "Ithaca Gun Co., Inc. Ithaca, New York". Barrel is stamped "HS" for Hi-Standard with "P". Blued pinned magazine, serrated arched mainspring housing with lanyard loop, serrated slide stop and safety, brown plastic Keyes grips with K star logo. pistol is in excellent condition, no temper line; retaining 95% of the military phosphate finish. Approximately 60,000 of these were manufactured under contract to the U.S. Government, making it an extremely desirable example.
