Manufactured 1943. This is an all original standard issue Colt Model 1911-A1 that was sent to England mid-war. Left side of frame is stamped "G.H.D" (Guy H. Drewry June 1942 - July 1945); "P" stamped on left side near magazine release. Keyes brown plastic grips with K star logo, short checkered trigger, short checkered wide spur hammer, checkered slide stop and safety. Barrel is stamped with a "P" on left lug, left side of barrel is stamped Colt .45 Auto", right side of barrel has the British stamps "B.N.P." with crown and tons. Right side of frame is stamped "United States Property M1911A1 U.S. Army" and "BNP" crown stamp with crossed swords, also has Springfield Ordnance wheel. Left side of slide has pony in center of patent dates with "P" on top. Right side of slide has the BNP crown stamp. Has the parkerized was-time finish with distinct temper line at muzzle. As is usual with these British ship guns, there are a few dings. Pistol retains 90% of the phosphate war-time finish. Fine bore and perfect action. Has one welded magazine. An excellent example of lend lease Colt shipped mid-war.
