Offered is a scarce, early World War II Colt manufactured during Pearl Harbor era or earlier. These early Colts rarely survived the war in fine condition. Features: right side of frame stamped "United States Property M1911A1 U.S. Army"; left side of frame has inspector stamp "R.S." in square (Robert Sears 1937-1941), left side also has "P" stamped near magazine release; short wise spur hammer; checkered mainspring housing with lanyard loop; Keyes style brown plastic grips with no logo inside; welded magazine with no pins; checkered safety and slide stop; left side of slide has pony in center of patent dates with distinct two tone temper line; top of slide is stamped with "P"; right side of slide is blank. Barrel is stamped with an "F" on right lug, "P" on left which is used at serial No. 900000. Pistol remains in excellent condition with 95% of the original military parkerized finish with light takedown line and some very minor high edge muzzle wear on slide only. Beautiful early-war Colt U.S. pistol that could have been at Pearl Harbor. CORRECTION: Slide does not match the serial number of the gun. The serial number on the frame is 749678 and the number on the slide is 749706.
