The commercial Model Ace was introduced in 1931. This example was manufactured in 1938. It was basically a full sized Colt Model 1911 chambered for the popular .22 rimfire cartridge feeling the need of target shooters that demanded the military 45 style handgun chamber for the dominative .22 caliber round. Its standard features included a high profile adjustable rear sight with corresponding high patridge front sight, blued finish, fully checkered walnut stocks, with all proper small pre war checkered parts and corresponding properly marked two tone magazine. This pistol retains approximately 98% of its original factory high polished blue finish with some light high edge muzzle wear, light take down scratch, light triggerwear and a few minor storage marks on front gripstrap that still retains nearly all its original finish. it is obvious that this pistol saw little to no use during its lifetime and remains as new condition inside , a very fine high condition and desirable pre war Ace.
