Manufactured 1956/57. This Pre-Model 27 revolver was factory re-nickeled in September of 1973 and is dated inside grip frame. It features six shot, double action, full matted top strap and rib, red ramp front sight, adjustable rear sight, case colored target hammer and trigger, and a pair of smooth smith & Wesson target grips probably installed at time of refinish. Revolver has been fired; exhibits some cylinder burn and a light drag line. Still retains 99.9% factory nickel finish with fine action and bore. Excellent grips. Razor sharp legends. IT would be impossible to tell this factory re-nickel finish from the original. Pre-27s are extremely scarce with the long barrel. Barrel is pinned and recessed.
