Produced between 1936 and 1945 for the German Navy. Stainless steel, round barrels with no sights and fitted with wooden hand guard with stop on front. Top break action, frame marked on left side “Waffenfabrik Walther Zella-Mehlis (Thur)”, and dated 1939 with Walther banner and Nazi proof mark. Right side of frame stamped with two proofs. Barrel selector switch on top of frame behind breeches with cocking indictors. Trigger guard lever open action. Marked “Doppel/Schuss” on back of action and back of grip strap marked “N/474”, indicating that it was issued to the North Sea Fleet. Checkered two-piece walnut grips. Excellent condition, bores excellent, shows very little use overall with a few minor scattered storage marks. Grips and fore end excellent with one small deeper scratch on right grip and a few light storage marks on fore end. This is a very rare and desirable German Nazi marked flare gun. Very few examples exist, especially in this condition. CORRECTION: The right rebound firing spring is not working correctly and will need attention.
