Round barrel with steel barrel band and adjustable rear sight. Marked at breech, on left side "STEEL" and with six British proofs. Snider trapdoor breech with three British proofs. Flat lockplate marked at tail with large British crown over "VR" and in center "1870/ENFIELD" below a small crown. Brass triggerguard and buttplate marked "R 8/C" on tang. Steel ring mounted behind rear triggerguard tang. Walnut half stock. Very good condition with grey patina overall with some dark spots and some scattered marks from use. Stock with some dark stains and scattered marks from use.
