The cover is dated January 23, 1898, printed by H. S. Crocket Co., S.F.. When the page is held up to a light, one can see the the faint images of the newspaper articles and advertisements on the reverse. The print is lined with linen and is matted and framed in a carved and gilded, gesso frame.
