Airgun (A) is a Model 5 combination gun .22 caliber air gun manufactured 1884 to 1913. Has all matching numbers and an 22" barrel. This was designed to shoot round shot, felted slugs, burred slugs, or darts. This version is not rifled. Serial numbers on this model ran from 1 to 2850, placing this at near end of production. This was the full nickel plated version with walnut buttstock and nickel Swiss buttplate. Has an interesting adjustable from sight, fixed rear. Walnut buttstock has patchbox on right side. Stock is in excellent condition. Overall rifle retains approximately 85-90% of its original nickel plating with some usual bubbling of finish. Top of the receiver is stamped "H.M. Quackenbush Herkimer NY USA Pat. SF. P. 20 & OCT. 4. 1887". Airgun (B) is the rifled version of the previous weapon that shoots a .22 with an 18" barrel. Retains approximately 65-70% original nickel. Stock has a few stress lines at wrist and some finish loss. Very nice, rare and early set of Quackenbushes.
