This vividly colorful advertising piece shows an image of a boy holding a bottle of Budweiser being carried by an eagle and reads, "'Modern Version of Ganymede' Introduction of Budweiser to the Gods". The subject of Ganymede's abduction has inspired numerous works of art and this particular version is based on the work of Johann Frank Kirchbach (British, 1859-1912). Printed by Palm, Fechteler & Co., New York & Chicago, the image may be an early decal or transfer onto the stained plywood and then covered with a clear coat. Budweiser began use of this image for advertising in 1904. It is housed in a wood frame, painted green with some light damage and there is light damage to the plywood of the advertisement in the lower corners. The back of the frame is open to show a small piece of paper with text explaining the myth of Ganymede.
