Tin litho. Wind-up. Made by Louis Marx Company. Copyright dated 1936 King Features Syndicate. Working. Conisists of two small planes circling an airport tower. Popeye pilots one plane and Olive Oyl the other. Toy used the base from the Popeye variation of the Honeymoon Express. The figures in the overhead planes are different. These are almost in the round while the toy Popeye Express uses a flat tin Popeye. Toy has some scratching at base line. Includes original, hard-to-find box with some tearing and creasing. Note that the box spells the toy “FLIERS” and the toy spells it “FLYERS”. Provenance: Collection of Carl Lobel.

Condition: Toy (Excellent) Box (Very Good).
