Made by Kirk Guild, well known as the makers of figural character soap. Copyright dated 1929 King Features Syndicate. Complete set of five characters include Popeye, Jeep, Olive Oyl, Wimpy and Sweet Pea. Each has a word balloon to go with the figure. Includes two original cardboard packages or boxes, one in excellent condition and the other with some paper loss. A package would have contained one figure and one word balloon. Provenance: Collection of Carl Lobel.
