Marked on underside of shoe with copyright date 1932 King Features Syndicate and a J. Chein & Co. decal on underside of other shoe. The doll is mostly composition with wood legs/shoes, wood hat with celluloid brim and two wood rounds that fit against the body where the composition fixed position arms begin. Popeye anchor tattoo decals on arms. Includes original wood bowl pipe with metal stem. Some collectors consider this rigid arm Popeye the most attractive of all the Chein dolls. Some crazing throughout doll. Provenance: Collection of Carl Lobel.
