Cardboard advertising sign for a theater production titled Mutt & Jeff In College. Has original easel back. Die-cut is in the shape of the character's heads wearing large sombreros. Bud Fisher is credited on the sign as the creator of Mutt & Jeff. Not credited is Gus Hill, a vaudeville and burlesque producer from 1890 and on into the 1920s, who is known to have produced this Mutt & Jeff show. It was staged in 1908 to 1910 and this rare theater advertising sign dates from that period. One small stain spot over the second “t” in Mutt and a bit of a wrinkle in top section. Provenance: Collection of Carl Lobel.

Condition: (Excellent).
