An English 17th century zischagge, pot-shaped and ribbed skull forged in one piece with attached visor with ribbed brim on front and lobster tail neck defense on back with four riveted lames. Sliding nasal defense bar mounted on front. Ear flaps are absent. Interior shows a great deal of age and patina, with traces of leather lining, bottom of brim engraved "XV". Very good condition, exterior has been claned and varnished, now retains a smooth grey patina, with some scattered marks.
