The finest early BSA rifle we have ever seen and would be nearly impossible to find a finer example. There are seven lines of printing on barrel with patented dates, model No., etc. The serial No. is S8454, barrel is 30-1/4” with an unusual vertical adjusting rear sight with a high target front. All metal is blued with the exception of some thinning on trigger guard. This rifle retains approximately 98% of original blue. Set into the stock is a long rage adjustable peep sight. The walnut stock has a checkered semi-pistol grip. There is no buttplate; rather it is carved into the wood. Bottom of stock is stamped "14-1/4". The wrist has proof marks. This is a museum quality pre- World War I .22 caliber British air rifle.
