Arsenal refinished Savage manufactured Thompson Model 1928 A1 with Rock Island Armory markings in addition to flaming bomb ordinance mark on left side of receiver. Also marked "P O L" on left side of receiver over chamber. Typical Auto Ordnance Bridgeport address on right side of receiver. Vertical forend grip is a replacement. Heavily hand checkered, repaired horizontal forend with sling swivel also included. Pistol grip and buttstock appear orig with British style swing swivel fitted on left side of buttstock with screw holes visible also on left side. Right side of buttstock has brass oval affixed with brass screws with stamped number "697". It appears this is a property number and this brass oval was at one time on the opposite side. Buttplate has same yellow textile marker "C-9" and "12154". Lower assembly manufactured by Savage is "S-371142" does not match upper receiver serial number. Cutts compensator with Cutts address at top front only. 1928 internal parts. Buttstock has barely discernible anchor proof mark. Two contemporary 50 round drums and three 30 round magazines are included. Both of the drums have "New York" address, the other is unmarked except for the front which indicates "West Hurley" with Thompson bullet logo. Overall appearance and finish very fine to extremely fine. Gray Parkerized refinished coverage over scattered pitting with one area of moderate pitting at Thompson bullet logo forward of rear sight. Wood furnishings have the occasional chip and ding with the pistol grip a much darker brown than either the forend or the butt. Mechanics are crisp. Bore is fine with shiny strong rifling. A nice representative example with Ordnance proof, arsenal rebuild markings and re-importation marking forward of magazine well. No doubt this would be a very durable and fun Thompson to bring to the range. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO & RELIC ELIGIBLE.
