Absolutely stunning in appearance, this is one of the earliest manufactured Thompson machine guns to surface for public sale in the last decade. Matching numbered upper and lower receiver with absolutely clear markings throughout. Lyman rear sight. Later model buttstock. 1928 internals. Includes as primary accessories an original "July 27 1920 December 7 1920" patent dates "N.Y., U.S.A." marked 50 round drum, one "Bridgeport" 50 round drum, one "PATENTED-AUG.20,1920 / AUG 24, 1920-JAN 11,1921" 20 round magazine, one Seymour 20 round magazine, three US Cartridge Co. 30 round magazines and one "NEW YORK, USA" 100 round drum in its shipping box serial No. 1522 with instructions. Additional accessories include one reproduction hard case, one stripped Savage lower assembly with pistol grip, one metal buttplate assembly, one stock latch, three black enameled brass oilers, one 1928 charging handle, two contemporary reproduction vertical foregrips with one attachment screw, one older reproduction vertical foregrip with attachment screw, one pistol grip without attachment screw, two M1 style buttstocks (one with metal hardware), two 1928 buttstocks (one with metal hardware), one box of various small parts including two magazine latches (both are Savage marked), two firing pins, two extractors, four firing pin springs, two Blish locks, one trigger assembly and other small parts. Overall appearance and finish outstanding, extremely fine as refinished with crisp clear lettering and Auto Ordnance bullet logo forward of rear sight. Wood has also been refinished with some dark oil staining where the pistol grip meets the grip frame. Buttstock has a 1/2" long crack just below attachment iron, running vertically, and has some light handling marks. Mechanics are crisp, very good bore with two barely discernible rings 4" & 6" from the muzzle. This should in no way effect servicability. Not only is this Thompson stunningly attractive in appearance with sharp crisp lines but it is one of the very earliest specimens ever to surface for public sale. Don't miss your chance here.
