Absolutely fantastic Swiss MG-11 Maxim Machine gun mounted with Kern telescopic sight. Also includes Swiss tripod, belt loader, Zeiss optic sight in original leather case, ammunition box with 250 round metal belt, water can with hose, gunners tool box with spirit and lubrication can, 1944 dated MG-11 machine gun manual, and a picture postcard of a Swiss maxim with crew, addressed to "Anna Meyer". Gunners kit small parts include two each: extractors, firing pins, lock springs, gibbs springs, as well as other small lock parts in original leather parts bag. This gun is fitted with the rare extended muzzle for use with this telescopic sight (dated 1944). Additionally in this lot is an original Swiss machine gunners kepi, complete with crossed machine guns emblem at front with flash. This is a C&R eligible German MG-08 Maxim registered sideplate serial number 6327, also with serial No. 9142 with the rest of the gun including right side-plate bearing original serial number 9142. Visible numbered parts appear matching, including the lock, except for the forward clamp for Kern scope which is numbered 4341. Kern 2.5x by 210 telescope sight is number 2469. Zeiss 2x by 12 optic is number 320 with leather case numbered 3500. The Swiss MG-11 machine gun is widely acknowledged as the finest made of the heavy Maxim machine guns, and this specimen does not disappoint in the least. Every aspect of this gun is utterly superb. The fit and finish of the parts is beyond compare. Mechanics are crisp. Near mint original lustrous blued finish with the slightest loss of finish to the bearing surfaces within the internal mechanism. Some slight freckling to the tops of the oil caps, and the cap retention springs on the handles. White adhesive tapeline at 12 o'clock position at top of water jacket. Checkered wooden handles are exceedingly fine. Bore extremely fine shiny and bright. Both optic and telescopic sight are clear. Belt loader clean and serviceable. Tripod exhibits over 95% original green paint. The fit and finish of this Maxim machine is absolutely stunning! It is probably an un-fired specimen, and must be seen to be truly appreciated for what it is. In over 30 years of collecting, this is the best this cataloger has ever seen. The accompanying accessories only enhance the desirability of this ensemble. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO & RELIC ELIGIBLE.
