Smooth wooden forend, and wooden buttstock with flip up shoulder rest, and attached Bi-pod 3rd (and best) model gas port regulator at front of gas cyl. Also include is a carrying handle off of gun. The American B.A.R. was designed and fielded to provide "Walking fire" for troops to use when on the assault. The later 1918 A2 model incorporated a bi-pod so that the rifle could be used in a steadier manner. The A2 model also is a full automatic only machine gun with a fast automatic and slow automatic setting only on the selector. This makes it ideal for a collector in Connecticut who desires a B.A.R. This is a National Firearms Act item and requires BATF approval prior to transfer. This weapon is fully transferable on an ATF form 3 or form 4. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine as re-finished upon re-manufacture. Smooth gray Parkerized finish with one lustrous blue mag. Wood is also extremely fine with some light handling marks and a couple of dings to the buttstock which appears to have been lightly sanded and re-oiled. Mechanics are crisp. Bore is brilliant, shiny and bright. An incredibly attractive 1918 A2 B.A.R. which this cataloger can attest is a favorite at any range shooting event. 53171-22 JWK (25,000-35,000)
