RARE SAVAGE MANUFACTURED COMMERCIAL MODEL 1928 THOMPSON MACHINE GUN (CURIO & RELIC).SAVAGE1928 THOMPSONS-9331045 ACPW/DRUMMODERN; NFA; C&RCal. 45 ACP. 12-1/2" bbl with dual logo Cutts compensator. Scarce Savage manufactured commercial Thompson Model 1928 with Thompson logo forward of rear sight and also on Cutts compensator on left side. Compensator also exhibits Cutts diamond logo at top front. Upper and lower assemblies match SN. Savage proofed bbl. Detachable wood buttstock with sling swivel has faint outline of what appears to be a rack number "58". Includes one orig 50 round "New York N.Y." 1920s patent date drum magazine, and one 20 rnd Seymour magazine. The Savage manufactured 1928 Thompson machine guns are widely held as the most durable of the manufactured Thompsons. This specimen has particularly attractive wood and high luster finished bbl with du-lite finished receiver and lower assembly. This is a National Firearms Act item and requires BATF approval prior to transfer. This weapon is fully transferable on an ATF form 3 or form 4 as Curio & Relic eligible. CONDITION: Overall finish and appearance extremely fine. High lustrous orig blued finish on bbl and compensator with extremely fine dull du-lite finish on receiver, grip frame, and forend iron. Somewhat of a plum finish around magazine well due to the metallurgical hardening in that area. Wood is very fine to extremely fine with some very light handling marks. Mechanics are crisp. Bolt is very clean and bright. Very fine to extremely fine brilliant bright bore. Drum exhibits a somewhat dull refinish over light pitting which presents very well with this gun. It is not often one finds this model available in such nice, clean condition. The orig vintage 50 round N.Y. drum is a definite plus. 53165-8 JWK (24,000-30,000)
