*SUPERB CONDITION PRE-86 DEALER SAMPLE BRIDGEPORT M1A1 THOMPSON MACHINE GUN WITH SLING (PRE-86 DEALER SAMPLE). AUTO-ORDNANCE M1 A1 THOMPSON 587427 45 ACP MODERN; NFA; C&R Cal. .45 ACP. Bbl is 10 1/2 ". Fantastic condition specimen of the American WWII classic Thompson M1A1 machine gun which includes 1 30-rd magazine and orig brown cloth sling. "U.S. PROPERTY" marked on top of receiver with Thompson bullet logo forward of rear sight. This specimen marked on bottom of receiver forward of mag well "INTER AMERICAN" in tiny lettering on both sides (Importer). The M1A1 Thompson as made in Bridgeport was the final iteration of the Thompson produced in great quantity for the United States military and incorporated cost-saving design changes, which included non-detachable buttstock, side-cocking charging handle, and fixed peep rear sight. Magazine well, will only accommodate stick mags. This model was never fitted with a Cutts compensator. These Brigeport Thompsons also were extremely durable in construction as well as finish. A great opportunity for a Class III dealer to get a fantastic military collectors item. This is a National Firearms Act item and requires BATF approval prior to transfer. This item is transferable ONLY to current FFL/SOT dealers on a form 3. As a Pre-86 dealer sample under current regulations it may be retained personally when as sole proprietor FFL/SOT dealer relinquishes their FFL, making this a desirable status machine gun for dealers. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish extremely fine. Orig gray Parkerized finish with "S" proofmark visible forward of mag housing with appropriate inspection marks on left side of receiver. Very slight loss of finish where magazine slides into magazine well. Mechanics are crisp. Bore is very fine, shiny and bright. Attractive brown wooden furnishings exhibit light handling marks. Sling is strong and serviceable with a bit of staining. An extremely fine specimen in top condition and will no doubt make some dealer/collector very proud.
