HIGHLY SOUGHT SPRINGFIELD ARMORY U.S. M60 MACHINE GUN WITH NUMEROUS ACCESSORIES (FULLY TRANSFERABLE).SPRINGFIELD ARMORYM60100737.62x51 MMMODERN; NFACal. .308. Bbl 24-1/2". Exceedingly fine specimen of the U.S. American M60 machine gun marked on top of trunnion as manufactured "Springfield Armory" with SN on left side of trunnion and typical weld reinforcement on both sides below rear sight. Current ATF registration form lists Rock Island Armory Inc. with "Genesco, IL" address as the manufacturer. This lot includes three spare bbls; one without bipod assembly, two without carrying handle; one spare top cover, one spare bolt, one spare feed tray, one combination tool, and some other small parts such as sling swivels, aircraft sight, safety switches and two Cam actuator assemblies. Additionally there are two bbl carrying bags, six cardboard belt boxes with carriers, two handgrip assemblies, two bipod legs, one mainspring assembly and one blank firing attachment. The M60 machine gun saw extensive use by American forces during the Vietnam conflict and remained the staple 30cal. machine gun right up into the modern era. SN at left side of trunnion which is the only visible SN. This is a National Firearms Act item and requires BATF approval prior to transfer. This item is fully transferable on an ATF Form 3 or Form 4. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is very fine to extremely fine with the gun retaining nearly all of its original military finish. Bottom of hand guards cut for swivel attachment. Some handling marks and dings to the top cover as is typical with this machine gun, but otherwise shows very little use. Mechanics are crisp. Bores are excellent, shiny and bright. Previous owner had an extensive machine gun collection and many of them were apparently seldom, if ever fired. This gun with its several spare bbls and other spare parts would make an ideal addition to any modern military historical enthusiast. 52939-10 JWK (25,000-35,000)
