Absolutely new in box, fantastic find, Springfield Armory M1A select fire machine gun. This is the first of two consecutively numbered Springfield Armory M1A machine guns in this auction. Includes never fitted, still wrapped up bipod, mag, and orig diagram, warranty, and technical manual. Cardboard outer sleeve also included. The Springfield Armory M1A was produced in response to market demand for the US GI M-14 select fire machine gun. The M1A incorporates the action and selector design which was the M-14 and improves it with attached bipod and pistol grip wooden stock. Fold down forward handgrip also a nice innovation. And this traditional albeit redesigned flip up buttplate. The M-14 was the successor to the M1 Garand and BAR within the American rifle squad, with the intention that any soldier issued it could be an automatic rifleman if needed. This is a National Firearms Act item and requires BATF approval prior to transfer. This weapon is fully transferable on an ATF form 3 or form 4.
