*EXTREMELY FINE PRE-86 DEALER SAMPLE TRW M-14 MACHINE GUN (PRE-86 DEALER SAMPLE).TRWM-141472609308MODERN; NFACal. .308. 25-1/2" bbl with flash hider. Beautiful TRW M-14 machine gun with triangular logo on top of receiver. Bipod and flash hider are present. One magazine included. Extremely attractive walnut stock with eagle under three star cartouche on left side and flip-up buttplate. Bolt and bbl are also TRW. Upper hand guard is hard brown composite which is typical. Receiver SN is the only visible SN. There is a slip of paper with the number "II" taped with clear tape on the right side of stock, just above the magazine well. The M-14 was the army's successor to the Browning automatic rifle with the doctrine that it could provide automatic support fire as well as fulfilling the role that the semi-automatic M-1 Garand did, with the obvious advantage over the ground of a detachable 20-round box magazine. This is a National Firearms Act item and requires BATF approval prior to transfer. This item is transferable only to current FFL/SOT dealers on an ATF Form 3. Under current ATF guidelines, this weapon may be kept personally when an FFL/SOT sole proprietor relinquishes their license. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine, retaining nearly all its gray/green smooth finish with the receiver and buttplate having more of a gray tint with the bbl and bipod having more of a dark green tint. Wood is very fine with just the slightest of handling marks and typical blemishes where bipod legs have contacted the wood. Mechanics are crisp. Mirror bright bore with extremely clean action. This is as nice an M-14 as one will ever find, obviously exceedingly well cared for. A scarce specimen of a very highly sought machine gun model. 53145-2 JWK (10,000-15,000)
