RARE AND UNUSUAL PAIR OF CARVED PINE SEATED PIG TRADE SIGNS.

First half 20th century or earlier, France. Each seated pig inlaid with a walnut fleur de lis at the center of the backs, carved with forward facing ears, upturned snout, and carved beaded eyes and each with a curled wrought-iron tail. The joined or laminated figures with sheet copper fasteners and supports at some seams. SIZE: 17-1/2" h x 34" l x 11" d. CONDITION: Signs with traces of original pink surface. Sheet copper fasteners as noted. Tails and ears original. Normal and expected in-use wear and weathering. Very good overall. 52813-10 HMG (4,000-6,000)
