FINE HOROLOGY REPAIR TWO-SIDED TRADE SIGN.Later 19th century, American. This well carved and painted pine trade sign with cast iron "Stem" hanger. Relief carved from a single piece of stock with early dried paint surfaces. The trade name "KLEIN REPAIRING". Note: the hands are set 8:17 indicating the time of Abraham Lincoln's death. SIZE: 22-1/2" h x 17-1/4" d. CONDITION: Faces appear to be original paint with probable overpaint of trade name, bezel and stem in old repaint. Center "pin" for hands long absent. Normal and expected pleasing wear to top of stem. Surfaces crusty and dry with short fissures and abrasion losses from in use wear and exposure to the elements.
