An untouched example in excellent, complete condition. The helmet body is full form with distinctive "lobster tail" shape and retains all of its original Model 1872 brass hardware. The original yellow horsehair plume and cords, 1872 front plate displays the applied insignia "C1T". Interior leather lining and green visor facings also excellent, light printing on the paper label affixed to the dome reads in part "Henry V. Allien Co New York". This is an outstanding example of the rare Model 1872 Cavalry Dress Helmet of a quality seldom encountered on today’s market. CONDITION:Excellent. From the Ray Bentley collection.
