Lot contains: A) Pressed black fur felt body with a polished black leather band around the lower edge of the helmet and leather chin strap. Brass signal corps crossed flags side buttons, plume holder, and eagle front plate with German silver crossed flags, orange horsehair plume, orange cords with tan leather sweatband. Crown displays a Raymond & Whitlock New York Contract label dated 1883. CONDITION: Excellent condition. Cords are missing their tassels. B) Pressed black fur felt body with a polished black leather band around the lower edge of the helmet and leather chin strap. Brass signal corps crossed flags side buttons, plume holder, and eagle front plate with German silver crossed flags, orange horsehair plume, complete orange wool cords and tan leather sweatband. CONDITION: Very good, sweatband displays wear and a few rips. The felt body shows breaks at the spike base. From the Ray Bentley collection.
