This is a large wooden trade sign that once hung at the Charles Parker factory in Meriden, Connecticut. The Charles Parker Company was known for making quality art brass, lamps, vises and most importantly, guns. This trade sign has an incredible form and appearance with original weathered paint. On the left side of the front jaw and the right side of the back jaw there is painted "The Charles Parker Co. Meriden Conn." The paint is worn on both places but is highly legible and looks great. There is a repaired break on the mouth of the movable jaw. There is some soiling, chipped paint with some loss and normal overall weathering. This piece stands out and has a great folky look that is rarely seen in today's market.
