Bavarian Model 1895 Reserve Officer Chevauleger ("Schweres Reiter" Regiment) Pickelhaube in untouched near mint condition. Markings inside are of the size "56 1/2", written in both lead pencil and white pencil. Fine officer quality liner is intact, and exhibits light wear around the rim. Both Bavarian and Imperial German cockades are present in their original finish, and are near mint. Leather surface is near mint with a few spots of light crazing. Bavarian emblem retains more than 90% of its original gold gilt finish, and all brass fittings have a nice even patina. Brass scaled officer chinstrap is near mint, with a 1" tip of the leather strap being missing. A near mint unmarked cover is included, and appears to have been originally with this Pickelhaube. The cover does not have any damage or wear.
