Lot contains: (A) Third Reich M34 Fire Police Helmt, (B) M42 Refinished Heer Helmet, (C) NSDAP Pole Topper on base, and (D) Civilian Gas Mask in Original Cardboard Box. (A) The Third Reich Fire Police Helmet rates in excellent condition. The exterior of the helmet retains approximately 95% of its original black paint. The Party Shield and Police Shield decals rate nearly 95%, aside from a few minor scuffs. The top and rear of the helmet has three discs as fillers for the holes that were once used to hold the helmets silver comb. The size 57 interior liner is securely held in place by four steel pins. The leather of the liner is in excellent condition and still very pliable for being 70+ years in age. The liners drawstring, chinstrap, and one chinstrap ring are missing. The rear of the helmet is lightly stamped with "DRP; Thale". (B) The Refinished Heer M42 Helmet is, overall, in excellent condition. The helmets steel shell shows signs of use with scattered light marks throughout. The Heer decal is a modern reproduction, as well as the interior leather of the liner. The rear of the shell is stamped with the maker/size and lot number; "CKL/66, 3285". (C) The NSDAP Pole Topper mounted on a base rates in near mint condition. The pole topper was most likely fitted to the metal base by a veteran returning home from Europe to display as a "war trophy". (D) The Civilian Gas Mask in the original cardboard box, and rates in very good condition. The box contains a rubber gas mask, a metal gas mask filter, and an original set of "VM40" instructions, all rated in near mint condition. The exterior cardboard box is mark "V M" for "Volksgasmaske". The box is dry and has suffered some cracks and tears to the corners from age. It rates in very good condition.
