Model 38 Fallschirmjaeger helmet in overall very good to excellent condition. Shell retains 80-85% of its original gray green paint, with the manufacturer/ size stamp of "ET71" inside the left side rim. The lot number of "1755" is stamped on the inside rear flange. The decal is a reproduction, and can be easily removed. An original liner with zinc band is present, and is sized marked as a "56" liner for a "68" shell. Liner is very good with a 2" tear to the center seam, and several minor rips. The liner assembly is likely to have been postwar replaced as it is not the correct size for the shell, and the helmet has clearly been taken apart. While the four painted steel spanner bolts appear to be original to helmet, the nuts, while original, have been removed. The two rear bolts retain both of their nuts, while the two side bolts retain only one. The tan crown pad, as well as the chinstrap, are reproductions.
