Lot contains: (A) Officer's helmet of silvered body with gilt brass fittings, silvered and gilt brass top spike with white horsehair plume surmounted by a gilt Tudor rose boss. Further Tudor rose devices to each side supporting a leather backed brass chinchain. Very ornate gilt front plate with sprays of oak and laurel leaves overlaid with a silvered hobnail Garter star. The center badge with pierced gilt brass Order of the Garter motto "Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense" against a blue enamel background centered with a red enamel cross. Original chamois leather liner intact but showing moderate wear. Green leather linings to the front and rear peaks. CONDITION: Of recent manufacture and in overall excellent condition. (B) Other rank's helmet of white metal body with brass trim and decoration. The plume holder of white metal on a brass base complete with red horse hair plume. A post 1952 plate to the front with white metal and brass overlays. CONDITION: Leather liner intact and in very good condition, body and fittings are in excellent condition.
