A well-executed recreation of a Model 1872 Cavalry officer's dress helmet utilizing old and new parts. The body, visor facings and leather visor trim are of recent manufacture, the leather sweatband is from an original enlisted Model 1881 dress helmet. The metal fittings appear to be original as do the gold chest cords and yellow yak hair plume. CONDITION: In excellent condition save for the leather sweatband which exhibits wear.
