Extra quality throughout with gilded metal components. Black wool-covered pressed-cork body has no breakage and all components are as prescribed for the Model 1881 dress helmet. Deluxe eagle plate with applique crossed sabers surmounted with a shield affixed to the front of the helmet. Interior with black leather sweatband, green head and visor linings of either silk or satin material. Head lining is partially detached. Original officer grade chin chains, gold cords, crown plate, plume holder and yellow yak hair plume are present. Helmet enclosed in black japanned carrying case. CONDITION: Helmet is in excellent condition with bright gilded fittings. From the Ray Bentley Collection.
