The body is silver plated and decorated with a gilt brass laurel and oak leaf design. Gilt rose pattern ear bosses, support a gilt brass leather backed chin chain. At the front is the helmet plate of a half laurel and half oak leaf wreath surrounding the collar of the Order of the Garter and surmounted by a Queens crown. Mounted to center is a cut silver star of the Order of the Garter. The gilt pierced Garter is set onto a blue enameled ground, to the center is the Cross of St. George in red enamel. At the top of the helmet is a silver plated plume holder atop a suppressed gilt ball and base supporting a white horse hair plume. CONDITION: Excellent. The interior of the helmet displays a cloth lining showing moderate wear. From the Ray Bentley Collection.
