Helmet is circa 1885 with silvered metal body and edges trimmed with gilded metal bands. Additional garlands of gilt floral trim accents are applied vertically at the rear of the helmet, and around the circumference of the helmet. The lavish regimental helmet badge is comprised of a wreath of gilded leaves surmounted by a large gilt Victorian crown. The regiment's distinctive badge, three lions, provides the central motif. A gilded cruciform plume base and white horsehair plume top the helmet. Leather-backed gilded chinchains are attached to the helmet by two gilded rosette bosses. CONDITION: The helmet is complete with brown leather liner, complete but showing moderate wear. The helmet is in excellent condition displaying a few trivial dents only.
