New England Small Arms BAR manufactured in September 1944 with government rebuild markings and dated ”11-66” “RRAD” on top of receiver. Barrel has flaming bomb marking and date “9-44” below “NE-7”. Flaming bomb proof also discernible forward pf chamber as well as tiny “Inter American” import marking. Inside of receiver opposite ejection port marked “B161037E” The BATF indicates this is a fully transferable machine gun. Gun has original deep brown to black composite buttstock, and smooth wooden handguard, bipod and carrying handle assemblies as well as one original 20 round magazine. Green web sling also included. Gun incorporates the third (and best) model gas port regulator, and final model pronged flash hider consistent with 1966 rebuild date for the Viet Nam era. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine as arsenal refurbrished finish with expected wear to the finish at the carrying handle attachment point. Wood and composite butt are near excellent. Bore and bolt also near excellent. Mechanics are crisp. This is a full-auto only. For those of you awaiting a WW2 BAR with potential for having made it to Viet Nam, this is the one you have been looking for. Seems as though these New England manufactured guns surface less frequently in recent years. This is a very fine specimen with a nice smooth action in great condition! THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS A CURIO AND RELIC. JWK 18-119
