As there are virtually no Great Helms ever offered for sale, this fine 19th century copy will fill the vacancy in a collection of armor or European helmets. Made in three pieces and showing great age, this most attractive iteration of a Great Helm shows marks from the hammer inside and handmade rivets attaching the three pieces of steel together. CONDITION: The crown of the helmet with a large hole measuring 3" wide and 4-1/2" long where the skull was obviously thinner than the rest of the helm. The form is good and this is a most attractive and well aged copy.
