Always popular U.S. M1 .30 Carbine as manufactured by Postal Meter converted to full-auto M2 Carbine at some point in the past. Many M1 carbines were converted to select fire machine guns by the U.S. government as part of their updating and rebuild program after World War II. Others were converted by civilians and registered. This is a registered receiver machine gun, and retains "U.S. Carbine Cal .30 M1" on top of receiver band. Flat bolt, and flip-type safety. No upper handguard present. Includes three 30 and five 15 round magazines. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine over 90% smooth arsenal refinish with some thinning to a grey patina at the barrel with some other areas starting to thin. Wood is extremely fine with some light handling marks and a bit of chalk on left side just to rear of trigger guard. Bore is extremely fine, shiny and bright. Bolt face is fine. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. These M2 carbines are always very popular. Light and handy, just the way servicemen and shooting enthusiasts like them. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO & RELIC ELIGIBLE.
