Very fine example of a Long Branch manufactured World War II British Sten MK II machine gun on a York Arms registered receiver tube. Underside of magazine housing exhibits Long Branch markings and top side of housing Chinese markings. York Arms Co. markings on top of tube. This gun comes with one original magazine and an original Austen (Australian) magazine loader. Both the Sten and Austen utilize the same magazines. Also included is an original tan web sling. Also included is a Sten MK V parts kit (less magazine, and receiver tube pieces) which includes wooden buttstock, pistol grip, and vertical foregrip, barrel, both mainsprings, mag housing and trigger group assembly. The Sten MK II is a very simple and straightforward machine gun made mostly of metal stampings. It was far less costly and quicker to produce than the previous models such as the Lanchester. This was exactly what the British were looking for during World War II, and they made large numbers of Sten guns which found their way to every part of the British empire, including Hong Kong. Development of the Sten continued and eventually the MK V was developed which had a wooden butt, wood vertical foregrip, and more traditional front sight near the muzzle of the barrel. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is very good. Original dull finish turned an even brown-gray patina. Bore and bolt face very good. Mechanics are fine. This is a select fire machine gun. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4.
