This large bottle would sit in front of early country stores and be used as a cooler. It would be filled up with ice and bottles of Moxie Soda. This is the first example we have seen that has an inner piece that would hold ice. This piece inserts through the cut out bottom and forms a base. The base is in rather poor condition, but amazingly it is still intact. The bottle has a great crazed surface and retains its original decals. There are some scrapes, discolorations and soiling.
