Manufactured in 1943 at Springfield Armory. Upgraded and rebuilt with a Springfield 2-55 dated barrel but retains most all Springfield marked internal parts including trigger assembly, hammer, bolt, modified operating rod, and safety. Rifle still has the early locking bar rear sight assembly. CONDITION: Bore is bright and shiny with sharp lands and grooves. TE reading: 3. ME reading: 1+. Walnut stocks are a contemporary replacement with a CMP cartouche on left side and appear as new. Rifle is accompanied by a CMP certificate stating it was sold as a Springfield receiver only in June of 2012. Action operated properly and would be a great shooter. Most all of the newer non-arsenal parkerized finish remains with only the slightest losses at very high points from storage.
