Police department acquired Heckler & Koch Model 53 machine gun with one original 30 round magazine and green web sling. Many police departments and other discerning agencies acquired and issued these highly effective high quality manufactured machine guns in the in the early 1980’s. Proof mark “ID” indicates 1983 manufacture. Serial number on left side of magazine well with three position selector “O, 1, 25”. As a pre-86 dealer sample, this gun can be retained privately when an active FFL/SOT dealer in a "sole proprietor" status relinquishes their license, subject to any state and local restrictions, and upon BATF approval. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine to near excellent black hard coat original finish with some slight loss of finish to the high edges. Forward sling ring has lost finish to expose bare metal. Composite furnishings of buttstock and pistol grip near excellent. Handguards show some light handling marks with a noticeable ¼” mark on right side. Magazine appears to be new as is sling. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt very fine. Mechanics are crisp. This is a select fire machine gun. If I was an FFL/SOT dealer I would snap up one of these to enjoy shooting, knowing I could keep it after I retired. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS TRANSFERABLE AS A PRE-86 DEALER SAMPLE ONLY TO ACTIVE CURRENT FFL/SOT DEALERS ON AN ATF FORM 3 ONLY.
