Made from December 1943 to March 1944. Barrel is stamped "SA 10-43". Bolt is stamped "D28287-12SA" (correct), trigger group is stamped "D28290-12SA" (correct), unaltered operating rod marked "D35382 6 SA" (correct December 43), single slot gas plug, correct lock bar rear sight. Walnut stock has the "SA / GAW" cartouche on left side with crossed cannons and block "P" under wrist. All the major parts on this rifle are correct for this mid-World War II rifle. Further takedown might find a few small incorrect parts but every major part of this rifle dates to match serial number and barrel. CONDITION: 85% of the original arsenal finish on metal. Wood is very good to excellent with usual battle bruises. ME reading: +2. TE reading: 3. It is getting extremely difficult to find any World War II era Garand that is not a Korea War complete re-build.
